It's probably been mentioned before, but if you want something that is: * A fair bit more grunty than a Pi * Fairly power efficient * x86 * More of a standard computer You should consider picking up what Servethehome has coined the Tin

I wonder how much data you could encode in an RSS feed and therefore retrieve from services like Feedly? I remember reading a while ago about movie piracy sites that would store chunks of encrypted video inside images and host these images

I suppose you're right, but as I explained in the post, I am not some big company, I'm just a person who occasionally likes to post stuff on the internet. I'm a huge fan of various blogs, and want to be a part of that space.

I'm going to try this, as well as other suggestions here across a range of cloud-ish RSS readers and have a shoot out! It's going to take me a little while since it seems Feedly at least does not crawl very often, but I think a li

As someone who has a fairly basic use case for something like Pipewire - I switched to it about a year ago and hope to never switch back. Everything just works properly - and some of the value added stuff we have now (Easyeffects inside a F

I have been thinking about this every now and then - I, and many others, hold no loyalty to any particular ride sharing or food delivery app, and the cost to switch to the one that is offering deep discounts is almost zero. I know people wh

Post processing is absolutely essential with tesseract. Not to self promote but I discussed this at some length in this blog post, if you're interested: https://kn100.me/taking-back-data-from-eufy/

It's fine, I wasn't personally offended nor should you feel like you need to censor yourself. It's really difficult to justify turning uPnP off when you can't necessarily control every application that runs on your netwo

This is exactly my opinion and exactly how I use uPnP. I can't control exactly what runs on my network since I'm not the only one using it, but I can guard certain parts of my network more thoroughly.

It's useful to imagine this way: When a motor is forced to spin by some external influence, drawing more current out of it on the other end means it has to spin with more torque in order to maintain the same voltage. Here, the generato

The key is caching. I remember 10 years ago playing with Varnish, and it seriously blows my mind that even today sites get taken down by honestly fairly small traffic from HN. I sidestep the issue personally by having my blog (kn100.me) jus

This I'm extremely interested in trying. I am willing to bet a lot of CSR (Qualcomm) based Bluetooth hardware (a LOT of headsets seem to be based on this) probably also supports FastStream - and this would be an absolute gamechanger fo

An additional problem is artificially limiting the bitpool size to 53 - which for a lot of headsets is far lower than they actually support. Since this is lossy to lossy conversion (Unless your source material is lossless of course!) - you
