Yup, me too. Have always met or exceeded expectations working a straight 40. This article is trying to generalize their experience on a bad team to the 500K+ people that work at Big Tech companies.

I play online games that have variable winrates bc you’re playing with a match made team. If I go on a 5 game win streak, did I improve? Is the game bugged? Nah, I probably got lucky and got good teammates. If I go on a 5 game loss streak,

They’re both easy. For someone who’s never touched Terminal.app, I figured something packaged like a standard Mac app would be easier to work with.

The space certainly seems full of Ponzi schemes and rug pulls. This article spends a lot of words carefully dodging around that.

The numbers are silliness, hard to take the rest of the points seriously. Average starting salary for engineers at FB isn’t $150K and there aren’t 1000 engineers. Looks like the author pulled these numbers from Internet sources from years a

Where are all the folks who were complaining about the LinkedIn anti-scraping court case destroying the open web? This is what LinkedIn is fighting against.

OP would have to spend tons of money and hundreds of hours fighting this, then still have a nonzero chance of losing and going out of business. Always easy to say that someone else should fight it.

Dealt with something similar. Talk to a lawyer, they’ll tell you to settle. It sucks, but when you’re small that’s how this works. Fighting these could be a multi year process that costs tons of money and may require you to personally show

Why is this flagged as dupe and dropped from the front page? The story has developed since that Reddit thread, story in the WSJ yesterday, more data about companies, etc Glad we got that out of the feed so we can get… books about Lisp, Amaz

The middle ground is the SSO reauth interval, where companies can decide that for greater security they’ll made you reauth every 8 hours, daily, weekly etc to balance it against user pain. Companies do this today already.
