I don’t think that’s going to be as easy as you think. The DMA is a rule change for everyone, not a punishment aimed at Apple. If what Apple is proposing is legally compliant with it, then they are going to need to change the rules again

Once the user buys the phone, they own the physical device, but that’s not all they are receiving. They also receive software and services. They don’t own those - they have a license for them.

The DMS does create a huge set of new risks. That’s clear. Apple has advertised their platform as protecting users from those risks. They need to be able to explain the situation. These are just facts. I don’t see any anger involved. Ob

iOS devices are vastly more attractive to bad actors than Macs have ever been. At least get that right. Then you might want to take a look at some basic business courses on how pricing works. You seem to be operating in the paradigm of com

I think these 'push back the release' reports are mostly just sensational reporting. Apple is constantly adjusting plans for things that aren't ready to be made public yet. Part of the reason they are so secretive is because

Really - I’ve tried this and it just confirms that adding a touchscreen to a Mac isn’t worth a whole lot.

I really don’t understand why people want this, MacOS is great with a pointing device and keyboard but terrible without. Why not just buy a MacBook Air if that’s what you want?

Until recently they had a ‘no returns’ policy. I suspect this thing is going to serve as an inoculation against AI fever. Not that I think AI won’t live up to it’s promise over time, but that it will be steady and incremental over the next

Thanks for making the distinction between when you are charged and why then charge is for. Businesses rarely map charges directly into what is being paid for, because that doesn’t work in practice. Charges are made at a convenient point an

Amazon pays Apple nothing either, because the goods the customer is paying for aren’t being delivered through the App. This tells us nothing about the charge being only for payment processing.

Apple doesn't have a monopoly on software distribution. If alternative stores equated to better software, then Android would have easily outpaced Apple by now. The only people who would benefit from forcing Apple to allow alternative s
