If everything is a service, you have no actual control. You may feel you do, but you only have control within the services' matrices of operation. If you have no control, you're not free. You may feel the freest you've ever f

Seems like it's big on dividing money into "out in the open" or "with the government" and its movement between those two states?

Do a lot of cardio exercise, every day; at least 30 minutes. Do it for a month (every day!) and then see how you feel. Often I believe our underlying physiology is the real driver of sentiments which we attribute to conceptual things. Being

I agree. They worded that poorly, conflating mobile gaming and cloud gaming on mobile.

I made this point in another comment thread, but I think MS would make a competitor to Unreal/Unity instead. Think of all the game engine talent they now have. The IW engine for CoD, Halo’s slipspace, WoW. They could readily assemble a

Next headline: MS to acquire Epic Games? Tencent is in the way there. Really, I could see them launching their own engine. Think of all the studios and talent they have now. They have the engines behind Halo, CoD, WoW, Overwatch. Could buil

I could see them launching an Android “SurfacePhone” just because (to have SOME stance in mobile). Or Windows-based since Windows already has an android subsystem (or emulator right?).

Wait… WHAT?! Wow. Incredible to follow up the Zenimax acquisition with this. Was just playing a game via cloud gaming yesterday and thinking about how smooth it was and how MS was set for the future with GamePass. Congratulations to the Xbo

Seems like many bugs occur when programmers try to be clever unnecessarily. In this day and age, we don't really have to do tricks to save memory or time in application programs; it's just not worth it with modern silicon and comp

I know. I'm mixed on this, but isn't it ultimate work-life separation? Getting a little sci-fi here, but imagine not even knowing the names of your coworkers, project, manager, or even employer in the future; the system is so well

Just to make a point, it's fine if something's audience is entirely composed of computer nerds or academics at first. After refinement it can gradually make its way into consumer world; e.g., the internet, the most successful dist

God I hope it all dies. Deleted FB months ago. All feed "algorithms" are awful! Whether it's YT, Instagram; they give terrible recommendations/content. But, we all know what the algorithms are really optimizing for (it&#

Fair point. But again, that would be less of an issue if there were like 3 or 4 big search engines with different algorithms, all changing and adapting on their own schedules. Would be harder to game the system then.

Yeah… but why? You’re telling me what is the case currently but I’m wondering why the copper, fiber, and switches can’t be replaced by the 5G solution.

Why? There are undoubtedly wireless components to the infrastructure's network already. If everything could just beam to a single tower what's the issue?

So is this basically an alternative to lots of spread out WiFi routers? Like a university could get rid of all the routers in all the buildings and just have one or two of the "towers" Amazon would provide?
