Some quick points as a very early adopter of Vault: - Absolutely take an incremental approach, there is a learning curve - Use a high availability backend. I started out with just consul, but have since went with consul for HA, and cockroac

I just recently deployed a cockroachdb, and have been very happy with the results. For my use case, the JSONB columns are fantastic, and has much less deploy and admin overhead than Postgres.

Yes you can define custom formats. I use a modified version of the Common Log Format with haproxy to avoid logging specific IP addresses.

DTLA is around 50k population, so like any smallish town, you can do most of your life there. But like I said, there are train stations that can get you to most of the greater LA area - Pasadena, Santa Monica, HOLLYWOOD, Long Beach, Chinato

Around $30/day or $200/mo. DTLA is extremely walk/bike/train/bus friendly, most long term residents I knew did not own cars.

If it has a zipper, and that zipper is not made by YKK, it is disposable garbage. This indicates the main priority in production was reducing cost. Sadly the other way around doesn’t always work, you can still get crap stitching and fabric

You are correct, I was assuming federation in a decentralized system. If it’s an isolated node in your home, it looks a lot different, and I agree with your administration pain points. > What do you think is more likely, that Instagram g

Aren’t you talking about their actual video stream though? The focus here seems to be on initiating the conference, which join.me does without installing a hidden web server on a users machine the way Zoom and BlueJeans do.

In the early days of the iOS App Store I worked on a music iPad app. Through many hours of user testing and researching prior art, the best solution we came up with was detecting the trajectory of the user input and supporting both vertical

This is just uh, Kanban. The ‘Personal’ part is irrelevant in practice. That being said, for both personal and professional projects of any scale, I’ve found Kanban with elements of GTD mixed in extremely useful.
