Wilful misunderstanding of the research in the field? Or is it a gut reaction that spurs them into alternatives, based on a pretty meaningless label, which have no real proven health benefit? Perhaps it's the easy narrative of painting

One of the most experienced climbers I know clipped into a gear loop instead of a belay loop without looking down at it and sat on it. He's only alive because he's got really fast reflexes. Checklists and rituals save lives.

One of my most enjoyable projects was writing a Mandelbrot generator for the Gameboy. It was so slow that if you wanted to fill the very low res screen you'd be the better part through your battery life. Great fun though.

The EELV program doesn't actually require two different providers to guarantee access to space. It requires two different families of launch vehicles. ULA had the Atlas V and Delta IV families.

I got a Rift over a Vive partially because I knew him, or at least knew of him, on the benheck forums back when we were all kids trying to make our own portable consoles. I was always impressed by his work ethic and designs. Enthusiastic, i

Do you have any references at all for a winged stage being feasible in any way? Considering that there are plenty of rocket stages out there that can't even be moved horizontally unless they're pressurised I doubt anything vaguely

AlphaGo played plenty of games online after the Lee Seedol match. It went 60-0 against some of the worlds best players. Granted they were fast games but that's a challenge for AlphaGo as well as its adversaries.

One of a couple of reasons. It's not likely to be as well developed in a review from 81 but an important part of modern high performance sailing is gust and wave response. That is, when you get hit by a gust or a wave, how does your ri
