That Windows screenshot really is chaos. I would love to hear a defense of that design because I am missing any merit to it.

Hi! Thanks for your work on Haiku. I remember LOVING BeOS when it came out. I was a kid, had dabbled in breaking my parents computers with Linux distributions in the 90s, and was enamored with BeOS and was blown away by how great it worked.

The valley being an echo chamber doesn’t necessarily mean those implementing this have their heads in the sand. It can’t be all perfectly achieved, but to do nothing, as they were before, could be now determined to be a worse case than prov

I recently have been getting into making a lot of small swift apps for personal use AND now have MacOS 7 and 8 running on my iPad since they’ve added mouse pointer support. Excited to dig into this article!

GarageBand has a crazy/arbitrary limit on length of like 640 bars or 30 mins? I would have loved to use it to make a long mix of multiple tracks but that simple tasks butted up against that limit and I wasted so much time until I had t

Thanks much for the replies. I’m very interested in this and am wrapping my head around how it works and these differences so it’s great to hear perspectives from people using it.

For blogging use case, I have a few questions: 1. A (current?) limitation I've noticed with Beaker is that you can only edit a site implementation (for a specific address) on a single machine. What would you do if you had multiple comp

^ I am implying that they are storing iMessages unencrypted. The iMessages on iPhones/iPads are part of the 'backup' for each device and they are not encrypted at rest on the iCloud server.

There is a public API to get them out on the Mac — the Notes app is scriptable via AppleScript. You could loop through folders, notes, and attachments to get things pretty close to where they are in the app.
