The invite-only thing works when people actually are compelled to sign up for your site. What is compelling about this? Seriously, I'm already inundated with a bunch of equally terrible social media sites, why would I indulge myself th

Might be cool stuff they're doing but it doesn't make it any less unethical no matter how much they try to whitewash it. This is slippery slope stuff

Yup. This type of stuff is a major no-no and is taught as such in pretty much every entry-level econ and business class. All of these executives know better and were simply trying to skirt the system. There's going to be a huge settlem

This is whitewashing because this isn't the same thing as a company failing. They (likely) stole millions of dollars (equivalent) from a huge base of customers. That's not the same thing as losing money for your investors, which i

Except they didn't refund the stay. They should have refunded them, at minimum, pro rata for the lack of sleeping arrangements that they paid for (they paid for 4 people, were giving space for 3). So 25% refund, at minimum. These are t

This actually offends me that you called him Jamal Washburn. It's Jamal Mashburn, and you're conflating him with Chris Washburn who actually did go broke.

Never, ever give more than 2 (or 3 weeks if you're like senior staff) weeks notice. It's not your obligation to make sure the company is run well. You should also look out for yourself because no company will ever look out for you

This article reads like conspiracy-laden bullshit. Not surprisingly, it came from a professor -- ego-driven, vanity jobs for rich white men. Maybe he's projecting based on his probable lifetime experience in the fake-world rat race tha

This has been confirmed in other studies -- that people with white sounding names do better than those with "black" sounding names on resumes, all things being equal. Our country is incredibly structurally racist is the moral of t

I'd suggest SQLite unless you had a ton of users interacting all at once (if it's something involving editing excel spreadsheets, I doubt you'd have a problem with this).

So what exactly makes the Koch Brothers and Monsanto worse than Facebook (also a horrible political lobbying monster corporation)? Because they're not tech companies who your friends work at?

There are websites out there that do this, they're just not that great and usually only one sport specific. I'll definitely sign up for this just to check it out.

Consider advertising your jobs at less male-dominated college campuses? RIT is one of the worst offenders in this regard. I think that'd be a start.

Another thing I'd like to point out is how people confuse flavors of crude oil and crude oil itself. Tar sands/bitumen/whatever you want to call it is crude oil, it's just really viscous, really dirty crude oil. Condensate generally means c
