There's a big difference between looking out for yourself and denying financial aid because of a discrepancy of less than a dollar. Intent matters, and it's hard to argue that someone is trying to fleece you for $1 at a time.

At 50x designed max load bad queries would be one of the easier problems to solve. We design systems all the time that have hard scaling limits, and it's only a problem when you operate the system past those limits. e.g. I wrote a serv

Once we have a taste of what's possible it's really hard to accept that the status quo is good enough. With Prime Now I can get a lot of things ordered, shipped, and delivered within 2 hours, with live updates when the delivery pe

I'm a big fan of using chat as the real-time incident log even when we're all in the same room. It's trivial to generate a timeline of events for the postmortem and there's a lot of info you can extract from the log duri

I'm not with Google but the SRE book has a whole chapter on this (Ch. 3 Embracing Risk). For most services you don't need reliability quite as high as you'd think. There's a background error rate caused by networks and d

I really hope this drives a new wave of experimentation and development in shell interaction. Text as the lowest common denominator will never go away but having more powerful constructs available will be great for a lot of use cases.
