It might be good for the company. But the point is you need dollars and cents metrics that prove it is, not just righteous feelings that less bugs is better. Engineers at ground level are often well insulated from the actual business impact

The RFP quotes up to 50,0000 employees in 15 years. Any sane incentive package should have hooks in it to make sure most of those jobs do materialize.

If you have everything in one warehouse you can't do fast delivery that customers demand now. A lot of the big retailers have started leveraging their store networks to do same-day pickup and delivery.

Minneapolis has a similar system for demand-based pricing on some of our HOV lanes. It usually works pretty well, but the max price is $8 so the model breaks down a bit during extreme traffic conditions.

From colmmacc's link: The option can be used to robustly reset a guard variable, and hence re-initialize an RNG, DRBG, PRF, or other generator where duplicate state across processes would be a security issue.

Most of my pain with the React ecosystem happened when people kept rebuilding react-router every 6 months. I managed one upgrade, but after that we gave up and stuck with the old version because it worked well for our purposes.

Exactly. No matter how good an idea is, if people in the team are sabotaging it because they don't like it you'll have a bad time. A variation on Patton's quote: A mediocre plan executed well is better than a great plan execu

At my last company we had a similar issue with third party scripts on credit application forms. Analytics is critical for ecommerce sites but it's way too easy to accidentally log sensitive data across dozens of third party services.
