Glad to hear this come out. Worked at a Goodwill store for a summer. Involved lots of heavy lifting of furniture, strict managers, insane scheduling rationale, and auschwitzean like propaganda regarding the power of work.

Fair point about your experience but at the same time some people hate(ed) their formal educational experience and/or had to work constantly through college.

The fact that college can teach critical thinking I find highly suspect. Also when exactly does all the critical thinking skills "taught" activate? Is it after my freshman year, going into my senior year, or only once I have that

I couldn't agree more! I'm really disheartened at the pessimism that some HN members show towards people working low paying/status jobs.

I would normally say shameless promotion: But you asked! I'm working on this website called BrainAB[1]. It's an intuitive way to search for and download classic ebooks. [1] http://brainab.com

I would say a more intuitive/modern interface. I did not know ePub was a general standard as I had always used it in the context of Apple books.

Hi HN, The creator of the project here. This is a major update to a project I submitted a year ago. At the time I could not develop nor set up a website and let Weebly do the heavy lifting. This caused a ton of technical issues and held up

Regarding France. The issue of anti-immigration may very well be caused by a poor economy and lack of opportunity. Did Hitler come to power because the innate hatred of jews the Germans had or because of a garbage economy?
