I mean, the card is shaped like a credit card so people can keep it in their wallets so there's not much excuse. It seems pretty dumb to 100% rely on a device whose battery can run out.

The sheer alien-ness of cephalopod intelligence reminds me of the current conversation about AI and whether they are "truly" thinking or just mechanistic. It's easier to see an octopus as executing a highly advanced algorithm

The point isn't masks per se. Masks do in fact slow transmission, but there are multiple strategies which can work if everyone abides by them. But that's the issue — people won't agree to even the simple rules, no matter ho

One of Ruby's philosophies is to provide multiple ways to express the same fundamental operation so that it can conform to your thoughts instead of forcing your thoughts to conform to it. You can still do it the old way where it makes

This needs more upvotes. I agree that our fire management hasn't been great, but there is more to it than that. Climate change is driving both more fuel and deeper droughts, and making better conditions for bark beetles. There isn&#

Yup, 4 is the key. Lucid Air is being marketed as high end luxury car, so 113kwh is totally believable. But Tesla's first-mover advantage in this case is having locked down the battery supply chain necessary to scale. It seems that mos

Right so most plans call for living underground, at least until they can put some kind of shielding device at a Lagrange point. I assume that’s what really drives Elon’s interest in the boring company.

Timezone and cultural compatibility still matter, as we've collectively discovered over the last 30 years. Offshoring was already happening before this and will continue to do so, but there will remain demand for people onshore. Presu

FYI you would not have to pay cap gains on your primary residence. But yes, I feel the same way. I’m stuck in a starter house because I couldn’t easily get back in the market.

I should be clear. I’ve been in hybrid or management positions for many years now so it’s not a matter of trying out managing, it’s a matter of going in cold.
