We also have a Real vacuum (the numatic, we have a George but same thing), as well as a dyson v7. The dyson's are bagless but they have to be emptied all the time, and the maintenance is a lot more of a chore. I think the ideal mix wou

Probably the other way around, software developers that want to get into EE as a hobby/side gig/startup. Or that like version control and whatnot. I have an EE degree equivalent (i.e. I am qualified for entry-level EE jobs) but ha

I use an 8bitdo in xbox emulation mode -- I think as long as the controller emulates an xbox controller (I imagine a lot of them do), it'll work fine. It just has to be recognized as an HTML5 gamepad (there are various HTML5 tester sit

Simple DSLs are sort of Haskell's bread and butter, I'm actually somewhat surprised there isn't a decent flowchart DSL in Haskell (I know about https://diagrams.github.io/gallery.html , but it didn't seem

Also curious. I'm waiting, or even begging for something like flatpak on mac os just due to the number of times pip/npm/python in general has broken due to homebrew.

Also it's ridiculously annoying debugging issues with them, or finding out what source code compiled into a particular snap. Even with docker hub I can find the sourcecode easily linked 99% of the time.

Are compile times and program start-up times not a factor? One of the things I really appreciate about golang (from a completely different field) is how quic teh builds are, and how fast binaries start up (it's like I wrote it in C).

They don't look quite native, but I feel the trend is moving away from native-looking apps anyway (like via electron, or forgoing an UI at all and just doing a web UI).

As someone born here, it feels the same way to me. Basically my entire social circle is just people who are also born here. You basically have to marry into this social group, and none of us really seem to mind. That said, people also form

People who have roots in the province of Guangdong (previously Canton) refer to themselves as Cantonese. A fair amount of people in HK identify both as Hongkongers and Cantonese.

I use Mac OS and (K)ubuntu about an equal amount nowadays, what's wrong with the handling on Linux DEs? If anything I find OS X more annoying, as things like screenshots into the clipboard work far less reliably.

I find the window managers better in Linux, so there just isn't a replacement for me (on Windows, I have to install Alt-Drag [1], but it's super buggy), otherwise this would be super compelling. https://stefansundin.git

Yeah, it's annoying, but the Joule fits so much better into the drawer. It also has a much lower minimum water line, and slightly higher heat output, and as a result, it can heat up small portions to temperature _really_ quickly. (We h

Instant Pot is basically this, isn't it? I've always dreamed of one day starting a company that made what was essentially the Instant Pot, and they did it first (and coincidentally also from my home town).
