It really seems similar to dialysis, except more expensive. As technology develops and cheaper devices can be made we can democratize access to these lifesaving devices. It's in the interests of both you and I to democratize access to

Google's search results are just bad. For example, search: "Does Quebec have an NHL team?" The results suggest that Quebec does not have an NHL team, because it confuses the province of Quebec with Quebec City. Montreal, in

The genius of social media as an information control mechanism is that it gives people the illusion that they can speak and influence others. In reality, they are just yelling into a void. Unless you are a major internet personality, few

On open source projects you can vet people based on whether you can personally identify them as real people. Moving forward be suspicious of anonymity for core contributions.

The lesson I take away from this incident is that we probably shouldn't be allowing anonymity for core contributers in critical open source projects. This attack worked and the attacker will likely get away with it free of consequence

While this seems plausible, it is notable that this person seems to be anonymous from the get go. Most open source maintainers are proud of their work and maintain publicly available personas.

This seems true with so many of these core libraries. Change for the sake of change introduces attack vectors. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

The Quest Pro (~$1300) has an upgraded resolution of 2,160 x 2,160 pixels per eye. If Apple's marketing is to be believed they are offering double the pixel resolution of the Quest Pro.

I like the article's push for regulation, as if that isn't just an excuse for the existing big players to erect a moat around their technology to protect it from competition.

I like this way of seeing it. All of us, at some point in our lives, have acted Helpless, Intelligent, Stupid, and as Bandits. Life and growth is learning from the past and improving where the balance of your behaviour lands in each respe

So far the best thing in the burger course was learning how to deglaze, I never knew that trick. The questions on types of cheeses or how to cut an onion were weird and felt wrong. (What about the easy root method for cutting?!)
