The real problem is that once again someone treated what should simply be an identifier to look up data as something more. Why not store all this information on the server that an authorized person can see when they scan a uuid on the board

I too want to work in tooling. Sadly, we are just animals and want features faster rather than having a low memory footprint (don't know how I'd do it to be honest but I'm sure desktop apps should be leaner than they are now)

Thank you for explaining it to me. It totally makes sense. I can't help but think of the old "what are you trying to optimize for?" question though. Gitlab.com is OK for me because I don't make money writing code so I&#x

What about when an SV darling company offers "lifetime" product and sells itself to another SV darling? I'm of course talking about joyent but it could be me next time. If we get rid of limited liability, do I become liable f

I've tried arguing that the rich Chinese people buying condos in Toronto and leaving them vacant isn't a problem in itself. There are things we can do: increase property taxes and encourage new development. Canada is a huge countr

Joyent is a joke. I wasn't personally affected by this but I'll always advice against giving them any money, even a single cent. https://www.joyent.com/migration/migration-faq#terms

Just wanted to add that Kik is the evil people from the npm issue. Say no to legal abuse. Say no to Kik. If I have https://foo.bar I have full rights to https://foo.bar/kik/ Any idea otherwise is absurd.

Why do we bother with signal if that's the case? Competition matters even when it seemingly doesn't because we raise the bar. Look how Viber and telegram stick out like sore thumbs (ignore the pos that is allo) because WhatsApp no

I agree. DPRK should keep its nuclear weapons. I am more concerned about nukes in the Indian peninsula when it comes to world security. How good is Pakistan at keeping its nuclear arsenal safe? How good is India? Can we trust them to be com

I'd prefer about 60°F (which causes a lot of complaining in many places so I don't express my preference) but I hope the author is joking about using a heater in the summer.

They were supposed to not put any user app on the system partition but rather install them using play services when the user logs in. I've only seen one device implement it and it was a low end device so it kind of choked anyway.

Yes you can walk away but no you can't say "you're {{}}phobe and then walk away. Take my example. I have not read the memo. I shouldn't say the memo is unscientific and homophobic because I have no clue what it says.

From what I've seen of t_d, a lot of the people there were not openly anti-gay before the election. There has been quite a bit of pruning since so I am not sure about now.

Absolutely. I'm using a Lenovo t61 thinkpad with 1GB RAM. However, the live USB shines if you have more. You can install anything like the latest node js from their own Ubuntu without committing to anything. You'll run out of spac

I like KDE neon because it comes without too much baggage. If you have 8GB+ RAM, you should give it a try on a live USB. You can install software using apt, use it, and discard it by just rebooting. Edit: try the dev stable.
