Thanks for this, that's inspiring. I suffer from fear about death as well, and will look into this as what i crave most is a way to just be comfortable with the reality of dying.

I can really relate to what you are saying. I share many of your fears and have general anxiety about dying too early and death or not existing anymore in general. But i never took drugs. For me it started with a traumatic event (passed out

Even as a European this sounds strangely low to me. I make 60k EUR (~48k gpb) in Berlin, which is MUCH cheaper than London in every way. I do mostly PHP, have more experience but still know a lot of people that earn around the same mark wit

Messenger and WhatsApp are popular in different regions but combine both and you have the lions share of worldwide mobile chat users. For example, Messenger is much more dominant in the US, while WhatsApp is crazy popular in places like Bra

I use Arq to backup all my stuff hourly to my NAS at home through SFTP and the NAS then backups the most important stuff to AWS daily. That works really well and keeps the cost really low because i need the NAS anyway for streaming media an

Don't get the backup complaints, thats bad luck but you can't blame the hoster for not having backups.

DDG albeit successful is still pretty niche though. It's not that they are a threat to Google.

I saw the race in Berlin last year and found it really boring. Saying that as a big F1 fan that loves Tesla and e-mobility.

I went to the Formula E Grandprix in Berlin last year. I am a pretty big F1 fan, watching most of the races and know whats going on but Forumla-E was actually pretty bland and boring, i believe mostly due to missing any kind of engine noise

True. Saving earth would be much easier in almost every way imaginable (economic, logistic, structure) than trying to establish a new earth in space. Not saying we should not explore possibilities, but human sense and desire for exploration

i understand that, just saying that not every country has these insane distances like the US, as even most US content is mirrored on CDNs that are usually pretty close.

I think there should be more focus on latency and upload improvements as well. With all the realtime streaming/communication going on, really low latency is crucial for the future. Also we are sending a lot more data these days, so bro

It's more about being popular than being the best programmer in the world. He has answered thousands of questions with insane accuracy since 2008, making him one of the most popular names in the C#/Java world. Also he is very awar

By now a lot of high profile games get made with Unity, so i don't think it's really a downside that Unity Technologies don't build their own games. Unity is far less resource heavy and still the king for 2D or mobile games a

I am a regular on HN and have a different impression, in that many people are much more critical towards MS while Apple/Google are generally the good guys. Apple is the savior of privacy while Google are the engineering wunderkinder. E

Not so sure about that, for most Windows developers Xamarin will offer more benefits and it is extremely mature by now. React-Native is still pretty early on Android for example.

Right ? If they keep putting Google under fire for the use of Java, they will only accelerate the process of Google moving away from Java (which is a huge task mind you) and as a result Java will loose a lot of relevance.
