Not sure about that, as taxes are very individual it does not make much sense to give a post tax number. At least Germany it's not common to compare post tax salaries.

If anything, Apple wants the iPad Pros to replace Laptops for most people. They clearly are hardly interested in Macs and power users anymore as most upgrades go without an Event and mac sales are a minor factor in their gigantic revenue.

yeah, well you just test what you own anyway, for other stuff you could just grab some kind of dummy response and use that for testing your manipulation of that data, but of course you have to trust your customers endpoints to return the da

I'd say do both. Unit tests often help me to make my code more readable/decoupled and also help to spot potential problems early on. They also act as a kind of abstract documentation for how things are supposed to behave/work

Because of all this chaos i heavily lean towards Angular 2 and TypeScript. It's a good common ground for larger apps imo and has good best practices.

Well, today hearts are replaced by perfectly healthy hearts of other people and yet life expectancy after such a procedure is not great and patients have to take meds for as long as they live. Also cardiovascular performance is much reduced

You totally had me until you mentioned VR which is totally trivial compared to emulating a human brain. I think there was never the question if VR would be possible because we had forms of it 2 decades ago. It was more a question about the

My point is that the first iphone did not have any 3rd party apps at all and id argue it did change the world of computing in the years after that. If you do not acknowledge that you are blind of hate for apple.

Alexa probably uses forms of machine learning and also queries lots of services to find the answers you need. Also it learns from every user and gets better for every user this way. That would be really hard to do with an offline device.

They are connecting more and more services, you can train your own "skills" and i am pretty sure they will open the platform up at some point. Could be huge. Remember, the first iPhone was totally locked down as well.

I watched a Video interview by Robert Scoble with the Meta CEO and they talked to a developer who actually used this as a monitor replacement to write code. Pretty interesting, but i still doubt the resolution is enough to really replace mo

Smart Helmets are really interesting for many use cases, but i would always be a bit concerned with the battery so close to my head, at these things technically can explode or catch fire. It's not much better with smartphones though, b

Exactly what i thought. It would need to look more subtle though, i don't want to get laughed at at every intersection because i look like some guy out of the Tron movie.

From my experience working as a software dev in Berlin right now, 50k+ salaries are easy to get if you are halfway decent, i earn more than that. 20k is a joke and if true the people working there are super naive juniors or just really bad.

I earn 60k as a software dev in Berlin and know plenty of people who earn at least around the 50k mark. Also i regularly get offers for about the same kind of money or more. 10 years experience, no university degree.

Admittedly the first guy to ask a question was kind of a joke but other than that the questions were pretty normal for events like this which are heavily scripted PR vehicles anyway.

Any insights on why it took 3 years from RPI v1 to v2 and now v3 is released in less than a year? Not complaining, just curious. Is it just because they are so much bigger now ?

If you rent dedicated boxes you don't have to worry about replacing hardware or adding new servers. Also the cost savings are so huge, as someone else stated a dedicated box could be 1/7 the monthly price of an equally specced AWS

Still not convinced about this. I can get a pretty beefy server from Hetzner for 60EUR per month. Skylake 6700, 64 GB RAM, 500 GB Raid1 SSD. One time setup fee of about EUR 100 but can be canceled on months end. On AWS an equally specced ma
