Don't quite know how these work yet, but I appreciate how much work it took to make something good enough that it was approved. Cheers

Well, customers need support. Having a lot of small customers is harder and more expensive than having 1 big customer. They should sell to e.g. a large automotive or industrial automation company, and then not worry about the small customer

e.g. lets say that the big initial cost of certifying the first version of the toolchain is $2 million. It will be more than that, but (probably?) less than $10 million. And this doesn't include any salaries or costs beyond the time to

Some folks just have the ball and are running with it. The complexity of the language is growing even if you use C99. Just look at https://en.cppreference.com/w/c/language it's quite a bit bigger with the new

The headline has got a lot of asterisks. On a server that's already running, they can open a new software-only VM in 25ms. So it's more like saying they launch a new application in 25ms. It still sounds great though.

Good for OpenAI. They took a lot of this fantastic machine learning research and made a really useful service that a lot of people like. Really glad that ChatGPT is a thing and hope they have more success.

You didn't read the article, the title is just sensationalist that is completely wrong. Nothing you reacted to is actually real. All that the chinese ebike companies said is that users shouldn't try to repair a bad battery. The ar

You can't trust anything Business Insider says. Earlier today they ran a story that was definitely advertising paid for by a VC. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=36866885 So who is to say their other financial stor

No way. If they remove normal ways for people in Congress to make money, then normal people won't run for Congress. More MTGs will get in, but smart people who could make >10x more will say no.

I think for a big company they would get sued if they try to build an LLM just on a website's data without paying them anything for it. For a search engine they can do that, but the search engine actually benefits the original sites. A

Nope, Reddit currently has a bunch of their subreddits private. And if the Apollo dev gets paid, then he can come up with something to make the blackout go away. That's the leverage he has to ask for money. It's what he implied in
