It's not technical, the only podcast I listen to is: WTF with Marc Maron - http://www.wtfpod.com/ - he's a comedian who usually interviews comedians and they can go pretty deep sometimes

That's what I've seen from my experience. But I might have a limited perspective. Could you provide some examples of interesting freelance projects for a single developer?

So what's the sweet spot for projects as a single freelancer? Simple Wordpress sites are easy but unfulfilling. But most interesting projects are beyond the scope of a single developer.

How do you measure PR and branding effects? If you aren't controlling for variables, it isn't very scientific. It's possible to run multiple tests at the same time and test different things, but you need to be able to isolate what you're me

Hypothetically, if you were hiring a front end developer, would you see his stand up comedy hobby as a detriment? Asking for a friend.

Is there any site designed from the start to autoscroll that has a footer? It seems like these sites implemented autoscroll after existing for years and left the footer as a vestigial organ that no longer serves any purpose.

It's not quite apples to apples, Google Analytics prohibits associating personal information with web analytics information.

For event tracking, how does analytics.track('Purchased an Item', { price : 39.95, shippingMethod : '2-day' }); translate to Google Analytics? _gaq.push(['...? How many properties can you have?

People do scan, but certain words will pop out to them, or if they're styled in bold or italics.

But it takes someone with a good understanding of language to really test copy. If you put a designer in charge of A/B efforts, if all they have a design hammer, all they will see is design nails.

A lot of conversion optimization is finding the balance between the number of steps and the complexity of each step.

That's one issue with a/b testing, it can lead to behavior that's all data driven which then can lead to "tricky" designs being implemented. Sometimes, someone should just be able to make a call.

You're always testing against a control and have something to compare to. If they really wanted to, they could've kept a small amount of traffic going to the original control from before they started testing.

My main question was "Does this work with Gmail?" and I see you've answered it in the second placeholder text (but not the first) and in the bottom right. But if it's Gmail-only for now, maybe mention that right at the beginning?

What are the limitations of each? I was reading somewhere that Amazon won't let you use its product API on mobile devices.

One major difference is that hackathons are team efforts where writing a novel is generally a solo endeavor. The biggest hurdle is keeping an ad-hoc team together for a month.

If you want feedback on the landing page, the white text on the light green background is really hard to read. "That's ok. Just try it and you'll see ;)" and "Did we mention it's FREE?"
