I disagree, English is fast becoming (already is?) the global language. It makes sense to standardise on English instead of learning hundreds of different languages (which is no easy task).

Who said anything about superiority? I merely stated the main differences I have seen since living here. Japan isn't much different from the rest of the world, yet people here on HN seem to treat it as some kind of exotic alien world.

Except Toto toilets and the Shinkansen (which other countries like China now have) it’s not so different. And the banking system is ass backwards compared to the rest of the world.

Which is ironic because some of the reasons Brits want to leave is because of the French, e.g. why does the EU parliament have to spend 100million+ EUR to have the parliament in Strasbourg for 3 days of the month?

With Microsoft I was able to use my email for 2 weeks before they blocked it, they don't require the mobile number on sign up. It was a legitimate email, not spamming etc. so it was pretty bad of them. LinkedIn is even worse, every wee

I created an Outlook email address a month ago and Microsoft blocked it until I entered my mobile number. Sneaky bastards.

How does this work when tourists are taking photographs? For example at the Eiffel Tower where it's almost impossible to take a photo without people being in the shot.

I have the same problem and didn't use it because of their scummy marketing practices. I uninstalled the app thinking I could just log in to the website to cancel it but no luck, you have to phone. Is there a simple way to submit GDPR
