I very much appreciate this reply. You basically perfectly elaborated on what I lazily threw out there. With that being said, most of my friends are senior software devs and they think the same thing is bound to happen. We often joke about

I suppose, if a huge proportion of workers get replaced by AI software, leading to mass unemployment, there will be impetus for governments to step in and force corporations to contribute to some sort of UBI or social wealth fund. If AI gra

I Agree. I know people on a four-day work week with loss of pay (20%, proportionate to the one less day). They are all happier. It's the "...with no loss of pay..." part of this article which is problematic.

So let's use cork to plug all containers. We can then worry about microcork instead. I'm pretty sure that would be safer and more sustainable.

I've no single clue as to the future of image formats. All or them (or almost) have merits and stuff they suck at. I've been building a service which makes no judgement about it but tries to provide all the choices. JXL will be ad

Incredible work. Short, sweet and simple. I hadn't expected to enjoy this as much as I did. I can't wait to see where it goes.

I agree. I'm also not sure why this isn't the leading theory of what's causing the gravitational weirdness, yet still manages to evade our detection. (Disclaimer: I know nothing)

I'm reminded of this wonderful talk from Clara Sousa-Silva[0], a 'quantum astrochemist'. At one point in this fascinating talk, she mentions that aliens would immediately be able to identify Earth as inhabited by life, becaus

Weirdly enough, my dad spent roughly the same on my college (in Ireland). I had no hopes nor expectations as to how my degree would end up being of benefit. It allowed me to see another part of the world, and "learn how to learn"

Depends largely on what you need to grow your company, in terms of the supply chain and whatnot. I suppose there are indirect costs as well, in terms of the stuff you need to buy and how those things have been influenced by these stellar ec

I truly hope that the common theme of the likes of "JWST Just Found Something Which Should Not Exist" etc will not be augmented by stuff like "we used AI(tm) to figure out X, Y, Z". The last thing we need is hallucinatio
