This argument is hopelessly generalizable. Who in the world would does it not apply to!? Literally ever organization does “bad things” sometimes. That’s just the nature of groups of people. You are throwing out the baby with the bath wa

In California alone, at least 20 Billion dollars (over 10%) in pandemic relief funds were fraudulently given away. Quite a bit of it went to felons in jail! This is surely an underestimate. The Netherlands are not comparable to the US.

I'd wager voting (federal elections) kill way more people than Americans who die downstream of booze. Its just a question of locality, really.

I thought the problem with CA was that the state budget isn't fungible - 90%+ of the money is allocated via ballot measures or the state constitution and can't be touched by the legislature.

Diffs are easily in the 10k if not 100k range. No company but proverbial FAANGs can cope with that. Exploits are hard to spot by design and may span commits and even major versions. Only a computer process can handle that scope.

People are now skipping routine cancer screenings, check ups, and altogether avoiding any health care out of fear of catching covid. Its not hard to find stories of people with heart attacks not going to the hospital! Kids are missing rout

Tons of people are skipping routine screening and exams. Lots of people are straight up avoiding any medical treatment out of fear of catching Covid. (including routine vaccination!). Raw numbers aren’t helpful here.

The claim is absurd even if its factually true. Why would you possibly care about CO2 when visibility is 4 blocks, your lungs are filled with coal dust, life expectancy was 2 decades shorter, and kids are dying of polio and smallpox? It
