If there's serious problems, then Congress can act. The structure just makes it harder for Republicans to kill it quietly for an unsupportable reason.

It would be a years-long occupation with no clear end goal. It would kill at _least_ hundreds of thousands and negatively affect the lives of an order of magnitude more. It would almost certainly fail by any reasonable metric. Look at how o

Truly the Diamond Age (by Neal Stephenson) is upon us. Or at least the pre-pre-pre-alpha version designed by amoral corporatists.

Apologies for the assumption. I've used several Google products for years, including paid ones, and never so much as seen a way to contact a person.

It's within their technical and hardware wheelhouse, no question. The problem comes when you consider them as a company, how they act and how they do products/projects. When your primary competency as a business is rewriting, rena

It was doomed as soon as it had Google in the name. Who did not see that coming? Sticking with something like Stadia is just not in their wheelhouse.

Ambient levels outside are 420ppm or so. If you're around 500, you're doing very well and I doubt there's much point in trying to do better.

I would suggest that every company over a certain size gets a certain number of death threats. If, hypothetically, a company just managed to piss off, I don't know...everyone, one strategy to garner some cheap sympathy and have an excu

Is a system where you only process orders every X minutes actually more complex? The current system is _full_ of stupid shenanigans specifically due to a lack of a timebox.

That's true, but it seems unlikely that that's a particularly important part of intelligence. The vast majority of people do _not_ do that type of memorization, are they still intelligent?

Not anywhere in the US as far as I know, but even the requirement of showing ID is ridiculous. What has it accomplished? And how many people got tricked into buying the useless stuff that's 10x easier to purchase?
