(after clicking through context...) There's no amount of money you could pay me to do this with Ansible. Like, you could offer me double my salary, and I'd laugh. The only answer that makes any sense here is Kubernetes.

I am actually revisiting this and doing some mental math in my head. You bought in 2013? Really? Seriously ? Like, this isn't a tongue-in-cheek joke? The smugness of looking at your mortgage payment isn't enough? You just had t

I mean, I guess to put it simply "SSH to the worker node to fix it" isn't really viable. At all. Some folks used to use DaemonSets + hostDir to do that node configuration instead of SSH. Which is weird, but less weird than &q

Sorry to bug you with more questions but I literally dreamed of nix-snapshotter for years, so I'm excited. Do you know how this (installation burden) translates in the real world (GKS? AKS? etc)? Can one even get away with abusing Daem

What's the state of deployment for something like nix-snapshotter nowadays (with the realization that the answer depends on which of N k8s install methods might be in use)? I assume it's mostly in the field of ... "you'r

I'm sorry, but no, these aren't sophisticated, at all. Those quotes are from embarrassed victims who failed to see countless red flags. Like, if you're don't hear LOUD ALARM BELLS especially at that Cathie Wood one, I I

Except that Nix literally solves that problem by abstracting over the underlying config. Y'all don't know what you're talking about and once again the Ansible comparison belies in. >reinstall once every five years then it’

Which part? Like, that's what NixOS is. My config repo is declarative, describes in its history every machine I've owned. You could rebuild them at any point in time and get an identical exact machine image out. Idk, this is why i

No, no it doesn't. It doesn't solve the same problem, at all, certainly not holistically like NixOS.

Right, I've looked before and happy to be corrected but none of that is the result of this project. In fact, the gestures present in GNOME, today, have been there since before the first blog post in this series.

I remember this project starting. Not one single thing has changed that affects me as a result and I use Linux everywhere, daily. As far as I can tell it's a lot of small, niche work, that is almost completely immaterial to average use
