You'd be surprised, for a lot of industries -- and for select departments of others -- the holidays are a source of relative slowdown. I've done more than one migration, roll-out, or refresh over the holidays, since there's u

I think the commentary lies more in the fact that it's even happening, and will likely only get worse if the trends continue. Black Friday is not a real holiday, but we [as in the U.S., mainly] have let marketers create it out of thin

That really shines a light into the mind of Applewhite, while he may have indeed been a lunatic, he knew his ideas were bullshit.

I don't believe it is. I have click-to-play for plugins, which means that JS runs without issue, but I have to specifically allow any plugins, e.g. Flash. I get the same thing as parent when I visit -- black boxes -- along with an indi

Well, a technical interview that's lacking in actual hands-on coding perhaps. The reason we do actual whiteboarding now is to weed out those types (and it's done wonders in that aspect).

I have Ghostery installed at work, but for some reason it didn't block it. Maybe I had it disabled or something... However, here at home (where I also have Ghostery), it did block Disqus -- however, the very large panel is still visibl

That chat panel is highly distracting/annoying, it'd would be nice if there was a way to hide it. Other than that, this is indeed cool.

This is really cool! A few things though: * You probably have your reasons, but requiring an email to simply test it out is too much IMO. I don't want to go through the email invitation dance, I don't want spam in the future, and

I agree, I don't quite follow either. We had a candidate who spoke the jargon so fluently and naturally, that we totally bypassed the coding exercises so as not to potentially insult them. They were able to go into the ins & outs o

My only complaint about Resig's blogging is that he doesn't do it enough! It's rare that I read one of his posts and don't come away having learned a lot. Not as much to learn today, but with the really neat tool I can c

Well, that made my head hurt in a hurry. I've used Readability in the past, but was completely unaware of their API, and so I lazily searched it and the top result was a Ruby implementation on Github[1]. Alright cool, it does expose a

Probably not, since you can't really make a spreadsheet-like widget unless you endeavor to make it an Excel clone. Many grid (table) widgets support edit-in-place, but that's as far as most of them go. The target userbase for full

This is already why the author did though; the original benchmark that he replied to used Cheerio vs. phpQuery, but he rationalized that that was a losing battle anyways, and decided to test Cheerio vs. ReactPHP -- which requires a non-stan
