Google is one example. And AFAIK they don't support remote work. So they have offices in multiple countries, and usually pay a salary related to the local market. Most big companies with offices around the world adjust their salaries t

a lot of companies pay salaries agnostic to where you are. Or do very little adjustment. You can look at buffer's new pay system (it's all open). A lot of other remote company do the same or something pretty similar.

This requires more upvotes. I can't believe so many people in this thread are agreeing with the view that is painted in this article as the majority. I went to SF without money for a bootcamp, I did not experience this. The author seem

I went to DevBootcamp in Q4 2012. We had a job fair at the end of the program and got a job at Exec (YC 2012) from it. A year later Exec got acquired and I started looking for another job. My roommate had failed an interview with Uber a few

That's an interesting story and I wonder why the two governments today wouldn't work together to clean that up a little bit, since it seems like it's bringing a fair amount of troubles for the people. I also wonder if the sto

That is an interesting point, kind of on the edge I guess. If Facebook really wanted to do the right thing while allowing this kind of multi-targeting, they should then build something such as segments in the same campaign. You want to targ

After carefully reviewing this bug report with our board of directors on 4chan, we have come to the conclusion that your "rusty C skills" should be enough to fix the issue. I would therefore like to remind you that rasmus@php.net

I understand OP's views don't represent his employer's, but it's still funny to see Gusto (OP's employer) recruiting for full stack engineers on the front page at the same time!

I don't think OP would have any issues with that. Their problem seems to be that they can't find financing through a regular seed round, and are asking if considering an ICO would be a good idea.

The fastest way to get a web app running, for free is Rails + github + Heroku, imo. It's very fast to scaffold a new app, with diverse options you'd want (react/vue/other stuff). Host it on github, create a heroku app an
