So I guess this actually trumps my previous point, which was music is easier than video. But if you say now google is garbage at recommending music too... then I guess they are not as great as I thought on ML.

That's because there is so much variation in what you watch on youtube - from listening to music, to movie trailers, to sports highlights, to howtos about cooking, etc. The music we listen to is way easier to analyse, even if we have s

You are making a good point - Youtube recommendations ARE garbage. But I wonder how harder recommending videos compared to music. My guess is that doing data analysis on music in simpler because you only have to analyse the music data itsel

Normally when I see this kind of announcement, I think "It will take long before they learn and nail it like the main competition" - in this case Spotify. Spotify seems to be doing a great job curating new music or building playli

I wonder if it's selection bias, but I feel like I'm seeing way more conversation today about electric scooters than I've ever heard about similar on-demand bike platforms that started a few years ago. I never realised it, bu

Yes I loved it too, and it is super relevant. I've had my fair share of team swaps, both from backend to frontend, and it is always very interesting to see how engineers who have been on a specific team/role for a while tend to la

Are you saying that some other clients allow to see the timeline in chronological order? I'm a Twitter noob but started to use it more recently - still using the web client.

My point is more as an engineer, for the next app. I deploy things to heroku, simple enough, but when I feel constrained and want to learn a bit more to manage a little more things, where do I look? To answer your question tho, a lot of thi
