https://www.uhaul.com/Tips/Storage/What-Security-Features-Ar... I can speak for U-Haul specifically because I have used them and a customer can see the sensors in their unit. The sensors are deactivated when a cus

I’m pretty sure most large storage operations (U-Haul, extra space, etc) have per unit door sensors which work in concert with customer check in/out to verify authorized openings.

My understanding is the astronauts don’t mind staying longer because they enjoy it and for some (all?) it may be their last mission in space, in part due to the decommissioning.

Yea, I understand the limitations. TFA mentioned 6hr runtimes (rather than 15.5), which is more manageable. If you WFH I’d guess 2-3 is feasible at least 5 days a week. Of course, if the teletext requires a second run then that’s double tim

I’m somewhat baffled as to what is taking so long to at least digitize the tapes. He alludes to perhaps some more steps than just pressing play, but it seems to me the workload could be broken up by focusing on recording the tape data and d

Neither mapy nor the default tileset should have maximal information. Perhaps you can argue google is primarily for navigation and default OSM is not, but that doesn’t mean it should have all the OSM data represented at each layer.

IMO the default OSM tileset is terrible and the mapy set seems to be the same/similar. I guess it’s meant to show a lot of information, but the colors and patterns are noisy, the icons are too detailed, too many or too few things show

Those screenshots look more like WinXP to me with the rounded and shaded button elements. It’s the boring grey and buttons people presumably associate with the 90s.

I think the ask is for a cheeky, hidden seat tube motor like one referenced in the article to preserve the bike aesthetic rather than external mounted stuff: https://goatbikes.com/vivax-assist/

Bart and Caltrain are reasonably priced when you compare them to LIRR or Metro-North. All 4 are long distance commuter rails, not local public transit. Edit: White Plains to Grand Central costs $13 on peak while Mountain View to 4th and Kin

I don’t know where the HSR is expected to stop, in or near SF (although last I heard was the Caltrain corridor to 4th and King), but Bart is neither especially expensive if only travelling on the peninsula, nor is it the primary transit for

I don’t think UBI type initiatives, decoupling healthcare from employment, etc are incompatible with free market actions; the goal is to cover basic needs so individuals can make their own optimal employment decisions. Wages can still vary
