One slight adjustment to your thinking, tech titans create massive value: "In 2021, the Big Five tech giants—Apple, Amazon, Google (Alphabet), Meta, and Microsoft—generated a combined $1.4 trillion in revenue." https://

IMO, I think that pursuing a standard of living for you and your family is a reasonable and honorable goal, even if that means work is a chore. If you can love what you do that's a perk, but even if it's not there, the goal still

I'm saying that access to world class hospitals in urban centers makes the difference. If you live 2 hours from the nearest medical center and all you have is the Dr. that's willing to live 30 minutes from you in a corn field...

The reality is likely that the algorithms are trying to increase viewership, not quality of views. So they are likely to feed you things that get you to watch another thing, rather than things that are worth watching, leave you satisfied, a

You could simply encode a score for how well the output matches the input. If 25% of trees in summer are brown, perhaps the output should also have 25% brown. The model scores itself on frequencies as well as correctness.

I would say interactivity. A spreadsheet for example, you are constantly modifying rows. You want that in memory in the browser, not on a server, where you need to constantly be making ajax calls. How many micro-interactions do you want ---

> Everything can be explained away by science? There's so much to talk about in that post, so I'll pick one. Science is the process by which we test hypothesis to see if we can repeat outcomes. It does not work if the outcome i

Well, also, in the Biblical account, it was too late, they were all too far gone. I would argue it's not so bad now. :-) Imagine if your Mom sacrificed your older brother, and your Father was raping your sister, and ... Crypto in that

One of the hardest lessons I've been learning is that I need to "choose" what I want to be and then do it. When the responsibility fades a bit after hectic decades, it can feel pretty empty. Do you want to become really aweso

As a non-speaker this would be pretty fun as just a pattern matching game. The only problem is not knowing the words. If non valid next matches grayed out as I went, I would know what constituted a word, without knowing the language.
