If you look at the BOM, the Legos are only $60 of the cost.

If SWIFT is the messaging system and STEP2 is the clearing house, why is SWIFT-only versus SWIFT-and-STEP2 being sanctioned?

I think the argument (which to be clear, I don't agree with) is that there isn't a big federal database of vaccinations. Now mind you, if people understood how the EU QR codes work (public/private key), they'd realize t

I echo what some others said, rather than buy a hdd just to verify, why not run in an ec2 vm or similar then just nuke it when you're done. Remember, ingress bandwidth to aws is free

Also related, there's a "tv" domain, registered after my trademark that serves porn. Same question. For this one, I've taken the general position that as long as they don't show up in the first 3 pages of google re

They wanted like $80,000. My company makes that in annual revenue, so it's a nonstarter.

On a semi-related note, I registered a trademark for my company and the .com is just domain squatting. The .com preexists my trademark however. Do I have any grounds to try and claim it or am I SOL. I know if they were actually using it

Given, that unlike many advertising supported services, you can pay Zoom and remove ads, I fail to see a problem with this.

If you contact their support, they can probably help you. My account got hacked a while back and I started getting all sorts of weird recommendations. I contacted their support and they were basically able to reset it to an arbitrary date

How is this better than just running vcxsrv and inside WSL setting DISPLAY=WINDOWS_HOST_IP:0? I've been doing this to run graphical linux apps for a couple years now, both on WSL1 and on a regular Hyper-V Linux VM.

Living in CA, I bought a big air purifier last year. I found not only did it help my breathe better, if I left it on medium or high, it's a good white noise machine too.

I use VirtualPostMail and like them for a couple of reasons: - Easy to set up autoscanning so I just get PDFs with all incoming email. - Easy to get things mailed to me. - Can be a registered agent for my business (at least in CA). - Can ha

Given the low confidence intervals due to the small study size (~10,000) in the overseas studies, I don't think the FDA is wrong to wait for enough events (aka X people get COVID) in the USA study to more accurately determine effective

The main reason vaccine trials normally take years is money. Normally you wouldn't start manufacturing a vaccine before you know it at least works in animals. You also wouldn't _simultaneously_ vaccinate the 30000 people needed

I find an interesting related item to be the ~30% of people in the AZD1222 (AstraZeneca) study who got COVID after being vaccinated. They reported that in this subgroup, there were no severe infections, nor any hospital visits, confirming

Regarding #2 and #3, I don't think there is a way to speed this up. The only way they are testing these vaccines is by looking at the percentage of people who get infected who either got the vaccine or placebo. One of the reasons tha

I'm in the AZD1222 (AstraZeneca) trial, and for the next two years, I need to fill out an online symptom questionnaire every single week. They also draw blood at the 6-month and 1-year mark, so presumably could test for antibodies.

I would expect that reopenings wouldn't be based on vaccinated percentage, but caseloads, just as they are now. Once more people are vaccinated, however, those will decrease.
