This example works in SBCL, where types (possible disjoint sets of values) are treated as assertions. By default I always set "safety" and "debug" to 3 (the max), which helps. ;; Giving names to abstract things a l

Note that this is the order of display : The order of display of hunk slots is historical in nature. For better or worse, the elements of a hunk display in order except that the 0th element is last, not first. e.g., for a hunk of a length

Not arguing about Lisp 1 vs Lisp 2, but the example seems broken: (defun hello-world () 'hello-world) (: hello-world) I freshly compiled LFE to test that and what is written above return an error. Besides, you can

Thanks for your comment. The idea behind the Lisp reader approach is that custom syntax is used for reading/printing objects of different types, not to demarcate syntactic elements. For example, double quotes are for strings, #P"&

Go has a ternary if, but the syntax is weird ;-) n := map[bool]func() int{ false: func() int { return falseExpr }, true: func() int { return trueExpr }, }[expr]() https://play.golang.org

Of course not, lazy is opt-in in CL, that wouldn't be idiomatic. Besides, the semi-lazy approach of Clojure's pmap (allocate futures consecutively) doesn't seem to convince everyone: https://stackoverflow.com/

This has nothing to do with performance. Also, there is no such clear distinction in how vectors and lists are used. You still require context to know if a vector is evaluated to itself or not, or if a list is a call. Without context, you c
