I find the whole "you go" thing annoying too. Someone in a vehicle can simply modulate their acceleration pedal and be out of there in a few seconds. Getting out of an intersection with a bike isn't as quick.

If you don't mind staying on Fremont Street (I prefer it to the Strip), the Golden Nugget has a pretty nice pool setup (complete with waterslide) and is a "nice" place to stay.

I believe this thread is mostly referring to CoL increases, which are commonly determined annually yes. Usually the minimum is tied to ~inflation. If you did well during your last review cycle it'll be a few percent more on top of that

I used to run custom Android ROMs and now on my Pixel devices the #1 thing I miss are warmer temperatures. The stock options barely do anything.
