Yep. This is why 1Password’s recent change to this mode of operation makes me so angry and depressed.

I think you mean to say as long as humans continue to prioritize other things over these things, these things won’t change.

I feel like I'd have a better chance clearing the cache for the app than the cache for the web app.

They’ve spent many hours on this already and been denied. I don’t know why you think they’ll get their account unblocked, but I disagree. I expect the best that can happen is a small claims court victory thereby getting their money back, bu

This is not a case of a heuristic. This is a case of provably purchased gift cards, and multiple people at Apple refusing to accept those cards as payment, and in fact retaliating by confiscating the cards, along with all software previousl

Actually, it was purely for using a gift card. We just don't know which one triggered this response. There's only one thing that put them over the edge: a gift card. And what everybody here is saying is that gift cards are basical

If Apple isn't going to accept gift cards, it shouldn't claim it accepts gift cards. He should take this to small claims court, I think.

I wouldn't say this is obvious at all. If Apple thinks gift cards are fraudulent, it shouldn't sell them or accept them as a payment method.

I just read the screenshots of an actual article at the top. I mean, why isn't that article what was linked to? Ugh. I hate Twitter.

Help me out. Why would you be willing to download a PDF via HTTPS but not HTTP? If PDF's can be dangerous, then they can be dangerous regardless of which server they are downloaded from. Am I missing something?

But that’s basically what is being praised as “investment” here. The question is whether government spending is good, or whether we should let private capital fund it? (If private capital will fund it, but will then want to profit off of

This is just redefining terms, then. We know the app decrypts it to display it. But if the app decrypts it to send it to the parent company, then it is by definition not end to end encrypted anymore. If the app decrypts it, analyzes it

We know who. The social media companies did. The question is whether they were doing so at the behest of the government.

It depends on what the consequences are (or are assumed to be) of not acceding to the "recommendation."

IANAL, but I don't think they have to prove it's hard or easy to find and read it. The crux of the case is whether the government was seeking to censor it, and if they did to any extent succeed in it. As I posted elsewhere, I thin

Nobody is claiming that inflation is only caused by printing money. You’re straw-manning. What we’re saying is that everybody knows supply and demand affects money, also. And if you’d like examples of hyperinflation from over-supply of mone

I produce online books in various versions. The hardest part is making a functional web-version. I've always wanted to just use our ePub version with a browser-based reader like this. 1. Is it possible to craft a link that will open yo

That doesn’t really answer the question. Often I submit a link, but it doesn’t even get a submission made. Instead it just counts as an upvote on the same link that somebody else already submitted. I’m guessing there’s a time-based cutoff.
