For my needs OSX is the perfect mix of a user friendly / powerful desktop OS. It's just a very elegant operating system. I feel like just about anything I need to do is very close to the surface. Anytime I am forced to use Windows or Linux,

All the US carriers besides Sprint are backing the ISIS payment system. They've invested tens of millions of dollars into ISIS. They aren't going to let Google walk in and eat their lunch when they have the power (granted by Google ironical

I don't think that would be a good move for Microsoft. RIM would cost them probably $10B at least. What do they get out of it? They can't really back-port WP7 to the existing BB devices for a quick market-share grab. They don't want QNX. Th

About 90-95% of the bandwidth available 'on the wire' is already being used to deliver Comcast's video service. So if this is the first nail it's been there for an awful long time. The way traditional VOD is delivered (QAMS full of MPEG2 pr

AT&T U-Verse also works in a similar way. One pipe carries data and video services. The circuit is provisioned to accommodate video services. AT&T could technically offer faster packages to customers who did not use U-Verse video se

Hard to say. I think Apple said they sold 3 million of them last year which would make it very successful within the tiny dedicated IPTV set top market. It's not really a finished product yet. The current Apple TV is like the Motorola Rockr

The new UI is temporary just like the previous ones have been. There have been at least 3 major redesigns of the UI so far. They change as needed to introduce new features. The current design is to make room for third party content & se

Not sure about that. I know lots of people under 40 years old who can't touch type. Hunting & pecking on a multi-touch keyboard is no worse than a physical keyboard. Probably better thanks to predictive typing and universal spell-check.

The iPad probably has the most impressive hands-on-upsell of any device I've seen since the iPod. Apple has sold about 60 million iPads so it might not be unreasonable to think another 200-300 million people have had some hands-on experienc

Probably more often they are just choosing not to replace their aging computers. Any PC within the last 5 years is good enough for most people. What's the incentive to spend $500 on a new PC? As long as the old PC continues to work I don't

I'm not sure why an OS has to retain a 20 year old UI paradigm if a nicer method appears to replace it. If Metro actually replaced Windows classic I would agree but it doesn't. It just sits there on the side and randomly throws you out
