Is Dart's lack of popularity in spite of its author's employer, then?

Yes, that's a good point. I agree that there appears to be a client bug here. From a quick glance, it appears that nothing is checking that the non-final blocks in a pipelined read are returned from the server in full. I don't nec

Out of curiosity, I took a look at how the MinimumBytes (actually MinimumCount) field is used by the Windows SMB server. Interestingly, it fails with STATUS_END_OF_FILE if the actual bytes read is less than MinimumCount, which suggests to m

Unfortunately rio is unsound (and the maintainer doesn’t seem to care) [1]. It’s also GPL3 which limits its use in many projects. But I too am hopeful. Just not for rio’s API model specifically. [1] https://github.com/spacej

Maybe this is true for AWS VMs that use Xen. I believe that Linux VMs on Azure do not have this problem, since they use the Hyper-V reference time page, which can be queried from the vDSO.

I’m sure we could have rustc generate a trampoline function directly on the stack like gcc can. What could go wrong?

unfork appears to be unique in that it creates the illusion of mapping the target process's memory into the source. This is achieved through the use of userfaultfd, which allows a Linux process to mark memory as missing, to receive not

We are working on solving that. No promises that we will solve it completely the first time, but it should get better soon.

And remarkably we didn’t have this in the Windows team until relatively recently (a few years ago). Before WIL, each team developed their own C++ wrappers and error handling conventions, and it was difficult to trace errors as they flowed a

The integral of the characteristic function is zero, but the probability of finding a rational in any interval is one. In Feynman’s argument, it seems he was relying on this latter probability. So I don’t think you have produced a compellin

In Windows 10, we provide a NAT network option by default. This should work seamlessly even if you switch between WiFi and Ethernet. So even this problem should go away for most people now.

The paper was laborious to read. The short of it seems to be that Linux used to perform floating point emulation on MIPS by writing instructions to run to the usermode stack. The stack therefore had to be executable. This is known to be a b

We are working hard to fix this. We ship Curl (and ssh and bsdtar) in Windows 10, and you can use WSL to run whatever Linux tools you want.

I just want to point out that you are free to use your own, more complete or faster instruction emulator with WHP. We exposed an API for the one we use in Hyper-V to make WHP easier to use out of the box, but it has no special advantages or

Yes, bitfmt_misc is quite useful. In WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux), we register Windows executables in binfmt_misc and have a handler that launches a Windows process back and relays stdin, etc.: $ cat /proc/sys/fs&#

It’s well established that humans will make programming errors, and that good language design can reduce the rate of such errors (and eliminate certain classes of errors altogether). I’m surprised you are willing to place so much blame on S
