Making a petition to change the laws sounds like a great way of achieving nothing. It will certainly not mean you get to ignore the court orders. Shutting down public DNS in France would be an option (a garbage option that nobody would actu

Uh, there's nothing in your link about a government ordering Google to block Twitter? Since you say this is a common occurence, I'm guessing it'll be easy for you to find a source that actually supports your claim.

They did fight it in court. They lost. I'm surprised you're so keen on having big tech companies intentionally ignore court orders and just break the law. Like, it's obviously something none of us should want.

I'm surprised Amazon's legal team signed off on this. It's clearly against the GitHub terms of service[0], and Amazon employees acting on the instructions from Amazon had to approve those terms. It seems pretty much identical

Thanks! And it's not so much about proof, it's about the details. For example the $300/month discount for a much longer transition period seems like pretty relevant context.

How is the submitted article related to the headline? There's no claim of a "24hr notice" there, just that new sponsorships aren't being accepted.

As far as I can tell from contemporary sources, Pixel 1 launched with a promise of two years of major releases + one additional year of security updates [0]. This was in October 2016. They exceeded that, and actually did three years of majo

This is very incomplete, as you can easily see by switching to the aerial photo base map but keeping the tree overlay[0]. You'll see a ton of trees that are not marked. I'm guessing it's only city-owned trees, or something li

Creators aren't paid some flat fee per view. They're paid a revenue share. By blocking the ads, you're already making sure the creators won't get paid for your views, and they lose nothing when you watch fewer of their v

Sure, sure. I'm sure you'd have valuable things to post in threads about those services. But you still haven't written a word about this service , it's just repeating the same completely generic complaint that gets post

How is it a practical question? You're taking on no long-term dependency by using this service. You'd use it to find a data set you need, and then use that data set. If the service were to go away tomorrow, you're still bette

That's called a conurbation. I think it's how most of the mega-cities in the world outside of North America formed in practice. For a case with no primary core, have a look at the Ruhr area.

Something is wrong with your numbers. PlayStation revenue is $29B/year. Xbox should be somewhere in the $15B/year range after the Activision purchase. Nintendo is $12B/year. Each of those alone is more than $8.5B, let along c

The full bisection taking just a day doesn't seem compatible with the parameters of the story. Three weeks of FreeBSD changes seems to be about 500 commits. That's about 9 bisection steps. At two steps / day (the best you can
