Based on how the query executor currently works, I wouldn't call it scalable. Well sure, it can scale, but that implies that it's more efficient when it isn't in many cases. Basically the more complex your GraphQL query gets

Which really does not reflect reality at all. Outside of research/education, and stuff hobbyists are doing, FP typically isn't typically used alone. Some ideas are just borrowed from it and sprinkled onto OO languages to make thin

If you're looking for Java style OOP specifically, this would be a good place to start: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/java/

It's still very relevant in the job market. Probably upwards of 50% of jobs are going to want you to know OOP, and many of those will cover it explicitly in technical interviews.

Not sure why people feel a need to downvote things they don't agree with, but I think this might somewhat be on the right track. It seems weird to attribute this change to something outside of the education system when there have been

I think the idea of child support would be more than enough to keep me taking them properly. Obviously that is much less serious of a consequence, but I think it's plenty to get someone to simply take a pill.

Isnt this based on proportionality though? If anything you would expect that bottom 20% to be less likely to use birth control effectively and become a larger share of the population over time, especially as the remaining 80% preferred to h

I mostly thought it was odd that of all of the JVM languages they included it was Clojure. Ruby sort of makes since given that Rails recently included ActionCable.

Probably not. Google will likely remain at the top, although they'll continue to improve. It might end up being effectively a new engine decades from now, but it will most likely get there by evolving gradually over time.

Now we have the opposite problem, at least in my experience. Everyone just says "premature optimization is the root of all evil" and then uses that as an excuse not to have a sane architecture just to save a little effort up front

Yeah, that was a stupid comment. My experience was basically that while living on a minimum wage job my coworkers who had kids were way better off than the rest of us. Agitating because they were the people who really seemed to care the lea

My experience with it first hand was that people I had worked with who had kids had a higher standard living than I did, and couldn't have been struggling that much since they still had money for cigarettes alcohol and weed, whereas I

It isn't a guarantee of that when you tie it to an hourly rate. Anyone who isn't delivering enough value after the rate hike is going to have their hours cut and is going to have a harder time finding a second job, which is someth

The term itself is sort of ridiculous as well, since most advocates for it want a $15 an hour minimum wage, which is nearly twice what I lived on for quite a while, and is far above the median purchasing power amongst all people. And to be

Really that's kind of a matter of what "choice" is, but without getting too deep into that discussion, my observation has been that it's driven more by a toxic culture than anything else. I was a minimum wage and food se

It sounds like your primary problem here is anxiety. You may want to look into seeing a psychiatrist and getting some medication. It's been very helpful for me, especially in social contexts like pull requests. But without or without m

I really wanted to give this a try, but the lack of first-class MySQL support makes it a non-starter for me at this point. There are third party drivers, but they don't seem to work with many Entity Framework features.

I'd second this. Rails is still probably the fastest way to get an MVP off the ground, and most of the time it's more than fast enough. You can get UX on par with a well done SPA almost entirely using server code with Turbolinks 5

Why is it 'clearly' on its way out? IMO Rails is still the best web framework around, and the last release has really put it ahead of its closest competition.
