Hang about. Poetry is SLOW because it does not operate in parallel. It’s the one thing holding me back from a large project. Unless this has recently changed?

I just began a shared slack channel with my co-workers, and put the call out for any other interested hobbyists from other departments. We'll collaborate and discuss there, and ignore the public boards. I found in previous years I gave

It’s the “ask me why” that got you the downvotes. If you had of just stated your reasons without waiting for engagement you probably would have been upvoted.

It's like people forget the purposes of interviewing. "Can this candidate do the job we're asking them to do?". If the candidate has a proven, public, track record doing the things you're going to ask them to do, th

Thanks for the responses and pointing me in the right direction, I'm super excited about this project and I love the tools your company builds.

I will drill deeper into the documentation during the weekend, but if Mitchell is still around I have a few questions about how this might work for some apps I'm building. 1. Is there ECS support for Fargate, specifically, and how does

Yes sorry I’m talking about home composting.

I’ve only just started doing this - but my understanding is that the lids go into compost. The bottoms shouldn’t because the grease turns to a yuck sludge in compost bins.

Agree that lack of confirms is less a celery problem and more a rabbit problem. My main gripe is that it’s not documented within celery - anywhere. Not even how to enable them. If celery is going to go to the lengths it does to abstract bro

I sympathise - we’ve also experienced a bunch of issues with celery and rabbitmq and observing what’s actually happening is awful. I actually tweeted out some similar issues a week ago: https://twitter.com/jarshwah/stat

We've been successfully using Cloud Tasks and firing payloads right back at our HTTP cloud run service to solve for the lack of background workers. We had to build a mini-framework around it, but it works surprisingly well. https:

Circle charges per seat and for credits. It’s ridiculous. Increase per minute pricing and remove seat pricing.

.. so it's cheaper to provision more disk and get free iops than to get a smaller disk and pay for provisioned iops? I recently bumped iops to 12k on one of my RDS instances, and I had to cringe when I did it.

I’d be super keen to see your ElasticSearch model implementation if you’re allowed to share it? For what it’s worth, I dislike the unit of work model that SQLA uses, but the layered architecture is enviable.

Adding new SQL support to the Django ORM is tricky. There isn’t a nice low level abstraction for generating and composing SQL. It’s mostly a bunch of lists containing different kinds of data (strings, Col, Expression) and they don’t compose

For 2 - we would already have the time infra spun up via something like terraform. So we’d need to “adopt” the VPC/subnets from copilot. The actual connection details would be stored as env vars, but would need a “on create” hook to cr

I'm actually in the middle of moving some apps to ECS/Fargate. Here are a few of our requirements, it'd be great if you could share if copilot meets or does not meet them. 1. Production and Staging in separate accounts 2. A n

Apps these days might have several groups of services. For a simple case you might have a web tier serving http requests from customers, and you might have a Worker/background task tier. They usually scale independently.

Not really, because people could change the action on their PR and have it run. Unless you've got a fork based workflow internally.

What’s interested me about projects like this is the how of it all? Are they decompiling binaries to help write their version? Copying assets/textures/sounds? Or is it a painstaking clean room type of implementation?

You can prevent forks from running actions which guards against external parties. Nothing to be done about internal parties except policies.
