For some things, yes, and we are planning to do this. Deployment is different between our projects though, so we'd prefer our deployment method to live within the repo beside other build steps.

Awesome work! We've been migrating to Jenkins v2 and blue ocean over the last couple of weeks. The new experience is way way better. Does the 1.0 release offer much that wasn't in the previous version? Edit: Answering my own quest

I was dealing with this just yesterday funny enough. We didn't really like the idea of using `load()` to bring in a new file. I'll prefix the rest by saying we haven't actually implemented this yet, so YMMV. Our goal was to h

Yeah adding buttons to the top of a detail page, or a second form page for an admin action are unnecessarily hard. I've had to do both a number of times in the last few months, and referring back to an existing implementation is the on

I'm a big fan of postman, and I've been using the native app for a few months. It's great for exploring apis then dumping the code into either curl or requests for Python.

Thanks for that. I just ran a quick django shell test, and fetching 50,000 objects took 6.62 seconds in cpython, and 3.62 seconds in pypy. I haven't done a thorough test of the full app yet, but the basics appear to be working just fin

What isn't supported by pypy? Thinking in terms of a modern Django app, what should I be looking out for? Is libxml supported? Database drivers like pyscopg?

I'm not disagreeing, but presumably at least some portion of those expenses would be paid back in some way. The Australian model has the government provide the student loan. The interest rate is fixed to CPI and repayments are garnishe

Steve Yegge was one of the best bloggers I've read. Other than a post from November it'd been dark for a few years. Still a good read though. https://steve-yegge.blogspot.com.au/ https://sites.google.co

You're right, I missed that bit. How does that gel with the comment that they contain mutable fields? > Tuples are value types, and their elements are simply public, mutable fields

These all look great, especially tuple literals. I wonder why they chose to make tuples mutable though. Can anyone answer that question?

Assuming for a minute that containers aren't in play, then the isolation model becomes that of a server/vm with the associated overhead of each. To make this easier we'll assume there's only a single service, even though

Sure, that's a valid question to ask. But imagine you have 1,000,000 customers. Now you have to calculate and manage scaling groups for 1,000,000 customers * number of services. The resourcing costs alone would be outlandish, not to me

Even if there were a set of VMs per customer (and all the scaling per customer overhead that goes along with that), a carefully crafted exploit would still reveal details for that customer . Then it'd be a matter of enumerating all of

Some libraries just seem obvious in retrospect. This looks very cool. I've had a lot of success using click for command line programs in the past. Fire looks like it'd replace click for the majority of simple cli programs I write.

Being able to lock down known interfaces can be beneficial, while leaving the rest open. Optional typing also lets you ignore the type hints when you really know what you want to do. > "static typing only catches trivial errors"

Django will generate a LEFT JOIN for nullable keys, and an INNER JOIN for non nullable keys. The lack of control over joins and conditions is a weakness of the ORM, but Django generally does the right thing. Of course, you can do an `__isnu

I'd be very surprised if there wouldn't be a market for unofficial support of older Django versions - especially 1.8 or 1.11 in the future. It wouldn't be a 'sexy' company, but it'd make money and please a lot

Raw requires a primary key to be returned so it can rebuild the model object for you. You could also use django.db.connection.cursor() directly.
