What syntax should one use to define link relationships in a RESTful service? Most of the examples I've seen extolling the virtues of HATEOAS use XML, specifically the <link uri="..." rel="..." /> element. That's great for a single

A bit of context (I didn't get what this was at first): "Google Web Fonts is an awesome source of free, open source fonts hooked up to a world-class CDN. It’s also, sadly, filled with one-off novelty fonts vying for the title of “the new

My view is perhaps even more cynical than yours: I think his longevity is primarily due to luck. He also, if I understand correctly, has a different variant of ALS that doesn't progress as quickly. While money might have been a necessary pr

TIL. Thanks for disabusing me of the notion that this is a good idea. I have seen it used in numerous places which is what led me to assume it was the "right" way. I assume, then, that the developers of this site could have used pushState()

I continue to enjoy keeping an eye on these single-page style web apps for very basic content applications. I have a feeling this was pretty quick and easy for the developers to put together. That said, a few things jump out at me that make

Yeah, my point wasn't so much that there are not exceptions, but that there are frequent patterns in the English language. Rather than throwing up your hands in defeat and saying, "The English language is totally inconsistent; the only way

I don't think this has anything to do with the ambiguity of language or English. It does, however, like the Monty Hall problem, require you to make assumptions about how/why a speaker presents certain information. Think of it like this. Wha

I think I wrote up something very similar the last time jQuery Mobile was posted here, but I'm afraid it hasn't improved much since then. This is exactly what happens when I touch a menu item using my iPhone: 1. The Safari address bar momen

I confess to not understanding how this is possible. Both Javascript and Flash are severely limited (if not outright blocked) in most email clients. How are they doing it? And if it's a proprietary technology, is that a good thing?
