Are there indications that this is a wider spread problem beyond jacquesmattheij.com or the two individuals that have already been caught doing it with his site? One is an anomaly, two independent occurrences is a trend?

The argument against bots would be that it makes it more difficult to go through the 'new' section and find quality posts to up vote if everyone did this. In fact, I seem to recall Digg is going to/already has pulled back it's feature where

Correct. There's no Mac/PC client that emulates a local drive/folder (yet). Just an Air MP3 uploadeder app and a web based file upload for other types of files. I wonder if you could isolate the S3 bucket used and use existing S3 clients. O

The Envy Labs folks behind it have been highly active in the Rails/screencasting community for a while now, producing a wealth of free content. It doesn't seem in their nature to astroturf. The site is fresh and unique in its teaching appro

One thing to keep in mind here: The Kindle only let's you lend each book you own once, mitigating the potential damage done. The site also prominently featured the option to buy the book before and after the lend.

Sometimes you just build a project because it's fun, you can and you're able to launch it quickly. It's also an opportunity to pick up some skills and experience and build up a reputation. I don't think Lendle set out to be a long term, ful
