Couldn't a site just declare a single session ID as essential, and store everything else server side? Or is the problem that you usually don't keep server side session data indefinitely? I suppose you couldn't use client side JavaScript on

Could use some topic tags to cross-reference the material covered, so you can see a particular topic evolve over time. Plus the site is just too anonymous. Perhaps that's on purpose, to underscore the 'unbiased' angle, but it's a little eer

True. For cynical people and coders used to a corporate environment, 'markting' is often something which overhypes a product, or makes promises in a sales situation that they then have to put up with and develop. Whatever it's called, marke

I fully understand and agree with the rationale, hartror. It's just a little difficult to reign myself in and exercise the kind of self control needed here. But the inevitable and swift downvotes I've gotten certain helped to drive the poin

For me the issue isn't whether another language or framework is better for the job at hand than the tools you've spent time building up an expertise in. The thing that matters is that you don't develop a closed mind which prevents you from

As I've painfully discovered myself, being humorous, especially sarcastic or filled with dry humor often attracts downvotes too, no matter how funny you thought the joke was.

Kudos to the developer for having a nicely presented web site for the project too, and not just a github repo. All too often, a lot of awesome projects hide on github without some upfront presentation of the work beyond a short README file.

You're going to have to become more knowledgable about git anyway when you start serious development. Basic commits and pushes aren't too difficult at the beginning. I use Linode, but it requires a little more technical knowledge, as you're

There's room here for a dedicated site to focus on all the little design widgets that a developer needs too: Login boxes, modal dialogs, growl style notifications, mouseover effects etc. There's a lot of individual jQuery plugins available

I got excited when I read their intro that talked about how mobile platforms lacked the real estate for proper debugging, until I realized there's no way this is going to help in current iOS mobile app development. I'd be surprised to see A

So basically, Google has too many people for them to be able to list them all. Or Google didn't want to try and list them, thinking they might miss someone, or subject them to poaching. That seems to be a fundamental problem with humans.txt

Slightly unrelated, but given the current sanctions, you can't renew a .ly domain name right now as a US business, correct? Bit.ly's domain name expires early next year, last time I checked.

When was that page last updated? Look at the machines/OSs referenced on it: OS/2, Acorn, Amiga, Win 95/98/NT! I haven't seen the string 'ftp' mentioned on the same page so many times in years.
