Interesting, we also added a Varnish based cache layer and also got a dramatic performance boost. The connections to the backend dropped to 50%, taking off a lot load. I am currently going through your VCL to take some ideas for improvement

It has a client side memory/resource leak. After viewing some pictures, the browser takes several hundred megs. Its listed under GPU Process in Chromium. I guess it is a Chromium problem.

I am really impressed. Clean and simple to use. I can't believe that this is a weekend project. I am currently studying your code. Thanks for making it available.

Since when needs decryption to be done in silicon? That's P.R. A captured data stream can be decrypted "offline" in as many time as is needed. Storing the stream for offline decryption however does need an immense storage capacity. But we a

I agree with the second point. Regarding on-the-fly watermarking, I see the hypothetical use, but current watermarking algorithms are to complex for BD+. An interesting idea though.

It depends. For a new application, you have no estimates about the number of users, number of pageview, response times and so on. I would start with one instance. When the load gets high you can switch to a larger model. When you have colle

I love it how Cloudant is giving CouchDB a big boost. First they introduced Big Couch as open source and now a Java based map-reducer. I am excited to see what's coming next. These guys are geniuses.

I am using Posterous and can recommend it. Whatever you choose, make sure to use your own custom domain. Doing so, you can later change your blogging platform wherever you want.

When I read the title, I was hoping to see a real alternative to captchas. What I see is not that different (pictures vs. letter/numbers) Something revolutionary different is needed.

Interesting article. Cookie-stealing however is not that simple, as all sites I know in detail, use IP binding. This method renders the cookie useless for the attacker, as long as he doesn't forge the original IP.

No, there is no plan to support current IE. Skywriter relies on the <canvas> element and makes heavy use of html5.

Kudos for using the bookmarklet. :) The whole point of Skywriter is the underlying totally new architecture: The use of canvas, incredibly fast rendering and unlimited editing file size. No other textarea-based editor can do that. When it c

That would be git-web. It's not built-in, but a set of Perl scripts that are invoked via CGI from Apache or similar. Setup is a snap as it can be installed with apt-get/yum/zypper.
