I think it's less of a distinctly populist thing and more of a "convert's zeal". I have seen this type of language used with a lot of different technologies over the years when there's a lot of hype and momentum aro

Browser Company sort of built this themselves for Arc, but its really a separate SwiftUI-like Windows implementation (Windows UI is separate code written in a similar style). It still feels like a technical preview though unfortunately.

If this is true, AIPAC is a greater foreign threat than TikTok. Maybe we should ban AIPAC instead.

There's no evidence of that happening & it really isn't even about that. It's about the popularity of pro-Palestinian content on TikTok. The other social media giants have censorship policies on this that tilt things towa

You'll notice no one is even bothering to comment why this isn't true, they're just downvoting and flagging anyone pointing this out.

What is even the point of the Blazer EV if it is essentially the same vehicle at the Cadillac Lyriq at essentially the same price? When they announced this thing they said it would be $45k, instead its almost $60k just like the Lyriq. Not s

If this was actually about safety they would just get rid of the touch screen entirely. You really don't even need a display at all anymore, HUD + physical controls could cover all essential functions.

I don't know all the details of course, but I think I'd approach this by splitting the user specific info into a short lived user specific cache + globally caching the non user specific stuff for a bit longer. Ideally that way you

This scenario does seem like something that would be cacheable to me though. Really its a matter of where you're doing the caching -- on the server, or in the client. It's easier to manage cache invalidation (and state in gene

Hybrid sales are way up, that’s where the growth is going to be the next couple of years. The strategy that everyone was calling Toyota insane or even evil for is starting to make a lot more sense looking at market trends.

Yeah, I’m skeptical of that claim as well. And if someone tried it on me I’d tell them and their city to go fuck themselves, not move there. I can’t be the only one with that attitude.

OP suggested intentionally making commutes unbearable as a means of forcing people into cities to achieve this. That’s the wrong order of operations and would backfire politically imo. Personally I work remote, so I would probably just go t

This used to be feasible where I’m at, but housing prices are too high now. Spending $3k a month on a mortgage isn’t realistic for the vast majority of people.

And where are they more likely to be hit by one? Probably in a denser populated area with heavier traffic. You can’t just wave a magic wand and make all the cars go away. Regardless, you have to make cities a desirable and affordable place

It’s not that you can’t achieve the goal, it’s that you can’t force people into it by making their daily lives worse. Or at least that seems like that would be the least effective political strategy.

Big point of resistance here is going to be public safety. I would live in a city alone as a single man. I wouldn’t live in a city with a family. At this point even suburbs are becoming a questionable option as many cities have little to no

Nicotine itself really isn't particularly dangerous. If you haven't already been a smoker, you have no mental connection between nicotine cravings and cigarettes, so you don't really have any reason to desire them. If you wer
