That summarizes exactly why I hope this type of legislation doesn’t work out. Today I can trust that any apps I download will use APNS or nothing. Alternatively, a horror show of cheap and broken push implementations from developers who wan

Can you think of any situation where bundling would be acceptable? Should e.g. a restaurant have to provide an open market for silverware providers?

Maybe people think it’s “the right thing” even if it’s not in their own interest. Or is that inconceivable?

Honestly: I think it’s cogent to have an idea of what the world ought be like, and yet act in other ways to further your own goals. If it’s a prisoner’s dilemma, you might believe cooperation is the best way, and yet defect if you’re playin

Business are often happy to pay a high effective hourly rate. Consulting is easier than rank and file employment, but you seem to also want job security and predictability. “Get away with” however indicates you want a “do nothing job”: Opti

I don’t think we’ll see an (even) split. It’s more likely that all (most) orgs will have safe spaces. Like how all fruit juice is kosher: it makes no difference to people who don’t keep kosher.

Right on. A “computer I own” seems to presuppose that this computer does all these millions of things, many of which (I fear) can’t be provided practically for less than a compromise in ownership. You can build (and own) the Apple I but you
