At this point I only turn my camera on for 1:1 meetings. It's distracting and useless for larger groups. Even in 1:1s I hate being unable to actually make eye contact, it's consistently confusing.

Yes, we successfully purchased a small quantity of Kinetis microcontrollers which were supposedly tested prior to shipping, those are going into assemblies right now so we'll see if they actually work. Heisener is just a middleman so e

Oh yeah, I've told my manager it's only a matter of time until we get burned. So far we have had decent luck with Heisener and Win-Source but prices keep climbing.

Yep, the USRP series is solid. National Instruments buying them was really smart.

It's a nightmare. A broker in HK recently quoted me $71/ea for an industrial temp rated 10/100 Ethernet PHY (KSZ8081MNXIA) ... That is a roughly 50x markup. We're making a design change instead. I am now buying qty 500-1

Needs a (2019) tag. Restoration of the wild buffalo population is actually going surprisingly well, but it's just getting started. https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/135ade9a64a243eaa8e4647... https://

Really loved the Mars trilogy when I was a teenager. The clunky character development and invented politics haven't aged super well, but the stories are still interesting. I also enjoyed The Memory of Whiteness and The Years of Rice an

Dodge in Hell was really, really bad. Some of the IRL stuff was fun or interesting, but the interminable virtual world storyline was just unreadable.

I'm not sure there is an "oversupply" of small launch, most of these companies haven't yet had a successful launch and probably will run out of money before they do!

This is a cool hack, but seems to have been built on a pretty fragile foundation. Why not use one of the existing dedicated SDR boards on the market?

I'm also lacking psychedelic experience, but one of the ways I made it through the pandemic was going for 4+ hour bike rides on Sundays. Total reset for my brain.

Google put a ton of R&D effort into gesture sensing with short range radar (Soli) but it doesn't seem to have gone much of anywhere as yet. I don't think this type of interface is as important as the author claims. https:

I've been working for 20 years and I've had 6 different jobs. I have never once had multiple simultaneous offers for new jobs. In my experience it's been offer; acceptance; agree on start date; then give notice.

I have a mediocre Ikea chair[1] and a sit/stand desk that I stand at maybe 25-30% of the day. I lift weights, swim, bike, and do yoga. That combination has resolved the back and hip pain I used to suffer from. [1] https://ww
