I obviously also feel you have no idea what you are talking about and so far you have provided no supporting evidence or justification to your argument. Nor did you elaborate on your experience on the topic. I don't care enough about y

I meant faster execution. Browsers don't do that and can't do that because of the dynamic nature of JS. Chrome can do 31bit signed integer computation when it seems it possible, but it still needs to be converted to 64bit doubles

You can skip type checks, avoid unboxing performance hits, avoid changing map deoptimization, use integer for math heavy computation instead of doubles and the list goes on.. The potentials for speedups is significant.

Look at the harsh responses that we can already see on HN and you will understand why I usually prefer to remain silent on such topic. A lot JS devs seem to feel very strongly about any kind of change.

I think our legal systems are just too different. Malpractice is handled by the professional order's Syndic along with all sorts of minor offences such as misrepresentation. It is part of the judicial system. It can impose fine, traini

In Canada it would be illegal. You need to be a member of the professional professional order to be able to call yourself an engineer. I have a BS and a Ph.D. in EE, still can't call myself engineer (nor doctor).

It's not enough. I have a bachelor's degree and Ph.D. in Engineering, but I still cannot call myself either engineer (I'm not a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec) nor Doctor. And it is fine. Professional orders can

You just can't jail everybody that avoid DRM or blocks ads. There would be nobody left to pay for said prisons.

Piracy is still booming. It kind of support my point that ad-blocking laws wouldn't be enforceable, just like anti-DRM laws.

Not sure Anti-ad-blocking laws are practically enforceable. Even with the ad labeling requirements relaxed, unless it is truly deceptive, a CNN could identify it just as well (or better) than we can.

If I have no incentive login again, you should probably not ask my email. This service is a nuisance just like all those sites that require an email for no good reason.

I had the same issue with a previous patch. The forced update resulted in 4-5 restarts, totalling about 30 minutes, to install and then uninstall the update every two days. Needless to say, that this is a bad user experience. In the end, I

Yes, but it raises barrier of entry. Furthermore, the proposed firewall will be trivial to bypass with VPN. So that is not exactly fool-proof either.
