That's an interesting perspective. Right now, though it seems like your only argument is "China". Perhaps you expand on what you think the problems you'd see in the future would be for this, and present some alternatives

I was curious about the relationship between number of people on the planet vs acres of forest. Turns out there's enough forest for about 1.24 acres per person. That was close enough to 1 to be interesting.

I did this in a field in Hirafu Village, Japan[1] near the end of April about 8 years ago . We didn't know about the spiral part, and so we just did it in layers. The spiral approach does seem like it would add a whole lot more stabili

Much agreement on this. It's concrete, visible and has behaviors that work well (click, resize, draw etc.) as well as providing a good entry into the thought process when designing modern user interfaces with components.

Yeah, it's hard to retrospectively unbreak commit history on legacy projects. Git notes[1] might be a possible solution, but I've not had that be particularly useful in practice (due to lack of support in various other systems). [

It's the police that have spend that time to apprehend and return the stolen articles that I have most concern for, they surely have better things to do.

As an outsider, this seems like a disingenuous take, but I might be missing something. Do you think there's any negative effect to allowing a filibuster to occur on things guaranteed to be rejected by the Republicans? Could that time b

I've read Petzold for years across a bunch of different mediums, but never realized he was such a synth / music nerd. It's always fun to see a different aspect of someone like this out of context. Cool article.

Just because it's analog doesn't preclude presets. Analog generally refers to the signal path, not the control path. The Analog advantage (on tone at least) is most obvious in high frequency sounds and audio rate modulation. This

If you’re US based, get a diagnosis and take FMLA leave. It’s not going to get better by doing the same things you’re doing right now, so do something better for a bit. Use the time to invest in yourself. Pick up a new hobby (sailing worked
