Thanks :) I think 'not ruffling feathers' is sure to be one of the biggest challenges; we also have to figure out how to manage team size (if >1) and work load. In 'the real world' we have things like budgets to constrain them and I won

I think we've just not done a good enough job of providing resources to teach people design. Notable exceptions like http://hackdesign.org/ excluded, It's either 'go to uni for 3 years' or 'figure it out yourself'

Bootstrap is a great example of something that might have taken _some_ work away from _some_ designers, but the whole it contributes back to is much richer as a result. Since Bootstrap and other high-quality frameworks have been released I'

Hey - author here. Totally agree - I'm a crappy writer and I really hoped that sentiment didn't come across, but hey. Totally not what I meant :) I've been burnt too by people not paying, people underpaying, and people not wanting to pay —

Great post; really resonates with me. I've come to realise that it's a linguistic thing. "I can't do that" vs "I can't do that yet" Personally, I've always hated sysadmin and as a designer I can rely on Heroku for everything I'd conceivably

Stupid question but what kinds of projects are people using Yeoman & Brunch etc for? I've been getting into lots of frontend MV* recently; a mix of stuff that I put in the Rails asset pipeline at work, and fun hacks on the weekend which

Not entirely sure what you wanted to use Express for but I've found server-side JS with meteor very intuitive. REST APIs are really easy to roll with the Collections-API Meteorite Smart Package too.

This is good news - the momentum of the Meteor community & of dev efforts is really infectious. Probably not ready to be building 100 million user services on just yet, but utterly fantastic for quick prototyping & iterating service

Assuming you're trolling but worth pointing out that Meteor includes a Spiderable package so it's indexable by search engines etc. http://meteor.com/blog/2012/08/09/search-engine-optimization

Not wanting to be too critical, but there's lots of talk about "not wanting to look Bootstrappy" (or to a lesser extent, "Foundationy") — in that without customisation sites using them can look cookie-cutter. This is ugly - I'd rather see

Great post. I think it's unfair picking on Angular for obtuse docs when Ember has the same problem though. The PeepCode Ember video was a big step towards Ember being accessible to all; it's still really difficult to use compared to Backb
