I don't understand why he decided to do his experiment after the students told him it was because they didn't understand the words in the book. But anyway, I think some of this is true that things like social media have gone to fa

It's really easy to claim to make it easier to sleep in economy by adding a chair from short haul business class.. This doesn't fit in at all with making the seats as light and thin as possible to save weight and increase availabl

Zulip looks great, but it also looks like the sort of thing I'd have trouble convincing everyone to switch over to because even though it might be more useful in the long term, in the short term its a bit more complicated (even though

Well yeah sure, but a bird is quite different to a person, it's small and usually not on the floor. I just meant it seemed strange to detect an object but not do anything about it because it's not labelled.

What does it matter what the "object" was, if anything/something is moving to intercept then the car should stop.

Hence “most” not “all” backstreets. For example in soho Frith street could be fully pedestrianised, while the neighbouring greek street only accessible to taxis

I wish cars were banned from most back streets in central London, it's really not necessary to have every small road accessible by car. The only exception is unloading/loading at commercial places but that should only be at certai

How come we’re only starting to hear about UWB now? Has some development made it more feasible? As in why haven’t companies used it in previous products where location tracking has been an issue

Stack Overflow started going downhill when they stopped allowing "fun" questions. used to be that I'd go there, ask a question and browse through the questions, seeing which I could answer and also fun ones I could just read

Uh, being fluid and “born this way” aren’t mutually exclusive. It’s definitely not that you wake up one day and decide now I’m gay. Maybe you wake up one day and decide today I’m going to act on it. And as it gets more acceptable in society

You can zoom in to hit them. Personally I much prefer being able to see a tonne more content on the screen, then zooming in to interact with it. Then having a mobile site in which you see like 1 post per screen and the buttons are large.

This is the biggest thing blocking us from moving from Slack to MM. With Slack you have the option of replying to a message in the channel and keeping it fully visible, just by replying in the main chat, so why don't you just do that a

I'm a bit confused, that seems like the test did it's job, it found the faulty code elsewhere. (unless by elsewhere you mean in the test code) It just appeared to be flaky and was treated as such until someone looked into it.

Yup I wouldn't want it every weekend. But the scale of Brexit is much bigger, its going to affect our country for decades. It just seems like there should be more protests rather than marches or at least civil disobedience

I don't really understand how Paris has real protests almost every weekend, yet we're leaving the EU and we've just had a few marches. Marches do nothing, they're preplanned to cause minimal disruption, just make the peo

But some of that income tax gets lost in the education system. It would be much efficient to just pay back to the school you went to. Then there’s no chance of it getting spent at levels above the school.

The “people in the local area paying money” is tax. And from what I hear of US police, there doesn’t seem to be much accountability, certainly nothing like in the UK.

People wouldn’t mind paying taxes as much if they knew where it was going, instead of it going into a black box and no one really sure if it all makes it out to the needed services.
